Description

The one that gets along with every flavor you own. Cultured-butter shortbread, a clean vanilla note, and the toasted-soybean floor that runs under the whole line, rolled thin and baked to a snap that shatters instead of crumbling. No loud finish to pick a fight with whatever it’s holding. Lay it under the palest cheesecake dome or the darkest bark and it never looks out of place. Build a board around it, run it under a spoon of jelly, or eat the sleeve at the counter like the kitchen has no witnesses. The universal donor, and the first sleeve that comes up empty.

Ingredients

Wheat flour, cultured butter, cane sugar, toasted soybean flour, egg, bourbon-vanilla flavoring, sorghum syrup (trace), sea salt, baking soda.

Allergen Information

Contains wheat, milk, soy, and egg. Produced on equipment shared with tree nuts, peanuts, and sesame.

Storage

Store sealed at room temperature, 60–72°F, somewhere dry and out of direct light. Best within 45 days sealed; once you've opened the sleeve, 10 to 14 days before the snap goes soft. Fold the sleeve closed and keep it away from steam — a Snap that caught humidity bends instead of breaking, and the break is half the point. Do not refrigerate (the fridge is a humidity trap and the cracker turns leathery). Do not freeze. If one ever softens, five minutes in a 300°F oven brings the snap back. Shortbread is the softest snap in the box once opened — sleeve it tight and it holds its edge the full two weeks.

Dietary

Vegetarian. Non-GMO. No artificial colors. No high-fructose corn syrup. Contains wheat, dairy, soy, and egg. Not vegan. Not gluten-free. Not kosher-certified. Alcohol-free — vanilla is a food-grade flavoring.

Sustainability

Slim cocoa sleeves printed on FSC-certified board with soy-based inks and water-based coatings; the box SKUs use the same matte cocoa window stock as the rest of the line. Turquoise foil stamping is food-grade and aluminum-free where the supplier offers it. Cultured butter from regional dairy partners within a 250-mile radius wherever the season allows. Flour milled domestically; toasted soybean flour milled in-house. No artificial colors — every tint you see is cocoa, cinnamon, fruit powder, or toasted nut doing the work. No high-fructose corn syrup. No palm oil. No pretzels anywhere in the line. Flour, butter, sugar, egg — the cheapest honest dough there is. Soybean flour milled in-house for the floor note that reads imported and costs nothing.

  1. Deirdre I. –

Okay cracker, I’d pick something bolder next time.

  2. Haeun W. –

Mellow and buttery, with just a hint of salt to keep it honest. Kept the box on my nightstand for late cravings. Leave it to L. A. Walton to make ‘plain’ a compliment.

  3. Suho D. –

Reads simple, tastes expensive. Can’t keep them in the house, so I buy two boxes now. Another quietly brilliant one from L. A. Walton.

  4. Istas H. –

Solid texture, flavor was a bit one-note for me.

  5. Oisin E. –

Carried a sleeve to the office for the team. Five stars and a standing order. A warm little treat for sweater weather.

  6. Luiza N. –

Added these to a holiday snack spread. I’d hand one to anyone who thinks plain means boring.

  7. Garrett F. –

Popped one in my mouth before I’d closed the cupboard. Thin, crisp, and gone in two bites. Only L. A. Walton could make something this plain feel this special.

  8. Soyeon A. –

Delicate and crisp, with a buttery finish that lingers a second. These earn the shelf space, no notes.

  9. Declan I. –

Broke into these the day they landed. These made a believer out of a plain-cracker skeptic.

  10. Hazel B. –

It’s plain the way a good white shirt is plain, goes with everything. They vanish, I reorder, repeat.

  11. Padraig I. –

Snapped into one before the groceries were even put away. Buying the twelve-count next time, no question.

  12. Marigold T. –

Had these waiting when the kids got home from school. Light, clean, and quietly addictive.

  13. Layla F. –

Crisp as a wafer and rich as a cookie. Tried one the moment I got the package open. Whatever L. A. Walton is doing in that kitchen, she should keep going.

  14. Marcelo J. –

It eats like a good plain biscuit with the volume turned just right.

  15. Aiyana K. –

The crumb melts into a buttery, toasty finish. Proud to support a creator carrying Muscogee heritage into her work.

  16. Talako G. –

Kept one hand in the box through a whole movie. Can’t believe something this plain hooked me this hard. Nice to have on hand as the leaves turn.

  17. Dovie O. –

Added a sleeve to my order last minute. That snap when it breaks is half the fun. The season’s turning and these fit it perfectly.

  18. Alma B. –

    Straight onto the reorder list.

  19. Nellie T. –

Cracked one open while unpacking the groceries. A tender snap and a buttery hush right after.

  20. Divya J. –

Took a sleeve on a road trip. Plain in the best way, like good shortbread should be.

  21. Cian T. –

Made my rainy-week tea breaks feel special. Laid them out for a board and they went first. A soft, warm, nutty undertone keeps it from being ordinary.

  22. Ciara H. –

Bought them to go under a cheese board.

  23. Bruno E. –

The finish is warm butter and a faint nuttiness. I’d put these out for company any day.

  24. Divya Y. –

Light, snappy, and dangerously easy to finish.

  25. Thiago J. –

My go-to now for coffee, tea, or nothing at all. Kept a sleeve in the drawer at work for rough afternoons. They suit a slow, dark-by-seven kind of evening.

  26. Aisha Y. –

Threw a box in with my usual order. Crisp and buttery with a finish that fades slow. You can tell L. A. Walton tastes every batch, there’s no factory flavor here.

  27. Camila C. –

A clean sweetness that lets whatever you pair it with lead. Reorder incoming before this box is even done.

  28. Lurline J. –

A keeper, plain and simple. Light as a wafer with the soul of shortbread.

  29. Booker T. –

Tucked into a sleeve with a cup of tea. Butter forward, lightly sweet, with a crisp that holds.

  30. Dahye Z. –

Grabbed two boxes after the first sleeve lasted a day. Shatters into clean pieces and melts away buttery.

  31. Delphine E. –

Simple ingredients, but the flavor is anything but flat. Started on a sleeve during a late-night deadline. Felt made for a cool, early-dark evening.

  32. Padraig H. –

Laid them under a cheesecake dome for dessert. These are a permanent pantry item now.

  33. Minseo G. –

Snapped one in half the second the box arrived. It’s as plain as it claims and twice as good.

  34. Chaewon S. –

As a Korean baker, the kinako-like finish felt like a little piece of home. It’s got that short, sandy crumb good shortbread lives for.

  35. Yeji I. –

Picked a sleeve up at a weekend market. It’s the kind of plain that took real skill to get right. L. A. Walton has a real gift for turning simple into unforgettable.

  36. Booker A. –

I came for the name and stayed for the butter.

  37. Brigid A. –

Kept a few in the pantry for drop-in guests. The sweetness knows when to stop, which I appreciate.

  38. Jiwoo F. –

Served them with the after-dinner coffee. Nice and buttery, though I wanted a bit more going on.

  39. Hawon S. –

Ordered these alongside a jar of the jelly. Barely-there sweetness lets the butter and toast do the talking.

  40. Cordelia P. –

Snacked on these while the soup simmered. A crisp, mellow cracker with a buttery backbone.

  41. Colton F. –

Perfectly decent, didn’t quite win me over.

  42. Sorcha N. –

I set one aside to save and ate it anyway. The crumb is fine and buttery and it shatters so cleanly. A one-of-a-kind little treat, the way L. A. Walton’s things always are.

  43. Verna S. –

Crisp to the bite, soft on the tongue, buttery start to end. Reached for the box during a long study session. Perfect with a hot toddy as it cools down outside.

  44. Weston J. –

It’s understated and that’s exactly why it works. Already ordered a second sleeve.

  45. Niamh H. –

Bought a sleeve mostly for the name. A clean, toasty, buttery little thing I can’t stop at one of.

  46. Vinicius A. –

Kept the twelve-pack by the coffee station all week. Crisp, buttery, a little toasty, and never cloying.

  47. Aisha M. –

Brought a sleeve to a picnic that turned cold fast. Worth every penny and then some.

  48. Sinead C. –

So light it feels polite, so buttery it feels like a reward. My new favorite thing to put on a board.

  49. Soobin C. –

Going back for the big box immediately.

  50. Chebon H. –

Simple butter-and-vanilla done exactly right. Kept a box by the kettle all week. They made a gray fall day a little better.

  51. Cordelia J. –

Ordered a six-pack after a friend wouldn’t stop talking about them. Decent snack, probably a one-time buy for me.

  52. Clementine G. –

It’s got that bakery-shortbread flavor, not a packaged one. I’d buy these again before anything fancier.

  53. Istas E. –

Left them on the counter and they vanished by Tuesday. The whole family’s hooked, so I’m buying in bulk.

  54. Omar P. –

Not bad at all, just a little too subtle for my taste.

  55. Kiran F. –

Gift-basket staple from here on out.

  56. Marigold E. –

Lined a few up with a spoon of jelly on each. Pleasant enough, but a little too plain for me to reorder.

  57. Deirdre T. –

Shared a box with my sister over coffee. An easy yes, every time. Cozy weather and buttery crackers, a good match.

  58. Pearl D. –

Hiding the next box from the rest of the house.

  59. Lucille J. –

Not fancy, just really good butter shortbread in cracker form. Quietly the best impulse buy I’ve made in a while.

  60. Marigold V. –

The plainness is the point and it carries whatever you add.

  61. Sage R. –

The butter reads real and the sweetness stays in its lane. Keeping a sleeve at my desk permanently now. Trust L. A. Walton to make the plain cracker the best one on the board.

  62. Lucille L. –

They’re okay, I think I expected more flavor.

  63. Delphine W. –

The toasted undertone sneaks up and makes it memorable.

  64. Nellie W. –

Keeping the pantry stocked with these indefinitely.

  65. Sequoyah N. –

That faint toasted warmth is the part I can’t name but keep eating.

  66. Opal A. –

Reasonable, but not a repeat for my cart. Laid a row of them out for a late-night snack.

  67. Daniela T. –

    A genuinely classy little snack.

  68. Istas Z. –

There’s a nutty, toasty note under the butter that I keep chasing. Easy recommend from me.

  69. Yuna T. –

Put a sleeve in the gift basket and kept one back. I finished the sleeve before I meant to and ordered more.

  70. Lucille I. –

It’s restrained and refined and I mean that as high praise. Put a cracker under every dollop of jam at the table.

  71. Otha A. –

Good cracker, just not something I’d crave.

  72. Cleora S. –

It’s the quiet one on the board that everyone finishes first. Set a few out with afternoon tea. Right on time for the first cold snap.

  73. Declan P. –

Perfectly nice, just didn’t stick with me.

  74. Jiho M. –

Crackly up top, soft underneath, sweet but restrained. Won’t be running out of these again.

  75. Tadhg C. –

I’ll never buy a boring cracker again. Opened these while wrapping a few as gifts.

  76. Ciara V. –

Buttery and clean, with a soft vanilla that doesn’t shout.

  77. Aiyana V. –

Plain cover, serious flavor: buttery, toasty, clean. As a Muscogee woman, I love backing a maker who honors her Native roots.

  78. Aisha J. –

Snagged the twelve-cracker box for a dinner party. There’s a quiet toastiness that makes it feel grown-up. A tidy little comfort on a damp fall day.

  79. Paloma D. –

Subtle vanilla, proper butter, a whisper of salt.

  80. Harvey P. –

They disappeared fast and I wasn’t mad about it. Set a plate of them out for a quiet anniversary night.

  81. Talako Y. –

Put these on the board between the bark and the jelly. Stashed a box for a weekend away. A clean, mellow cracker that makes everything around it look good.

  82. Soyeon K. –

Soft vanilla, warm butter, a snap that holds till the last bite. Can’t remember the last cracker I finished this fast.

  83. Layla D. –

Opened these expecting plain and got a lot more. It’s delicate without being flimsy, which I loved.

  84. Hiba T. –

Laid a few across a plate with sliced pears. A bit plain for a treat, though well made.

  85. Clementine I. –

Dug into the box waiting for the oven timer. A whisper of salt keeps the sweetness in check. L. A. Walton clearly knows her way around real butter and restraint.

  86. Jaewon I. –

Fine for pairing, a little boring to snack on.

  87. Nuala Y. –

Toasty, buttery, and so easy to keep reaching for. Worth it for the snack board alone. Genuinely original, which is just what I expect from L. A. Walton now.

  88. Neha Z. –

Rich without being heavy, which is a neat trick. They cleared the board before the cheese did. You can taste the care L. A. Walton puts into these.

  89. Kiran L. –

Saved these for a slow Sunday. Fine with jam, kind of dull on their own.

  90. Chaewon Z. –

Grabbed a sleeve on a whim at the register. Clean, crisp, lightly toasty, a proper little cracker.

  91. Daniela D. –

Tastes homemade, like something cooled on a rack. Simple, lovely, and absolutely a repeat buy.

  92. Oleta L. –

A soft vanilla hum with a crackly, tender bite. Kept one sleeve at my desk for the afternoon slump.

  93. Earlene Z. –

Not loud, not sweet, just clean and buttery and good. Kept a sleeve in the car for the school run. L. A. Walton’s touch turns a simple cracker into a small event.

  94. Everett H. –

Simple and clean, with butter that actually tastes like butter. These quietly became the thing I reach for.

  95. Rania N. –

Short and tender, with a toasty hum you notice on the second one.

  96. Jisoo S. –

Nibbled one plain before I’d even unpacked the rest. The crumb practically melts once the snap is done.

  97. Thiago D. –

Grabbed the twelve-count because the six wasn’t going to cut it. It tastes like butter and patience, nothing more needed. Just the thing when the mornings get frosty.

  98. Juliana B. –

Honest butter flavor with a crisp that doesn’t quit. Proud to buy from a creator who carries her heritage into every batch.

  99. Hawon L. –

Toasty, tender, and just sweet enough to count as a treat.

  100. Darragh G. –

Understated vanilla, generous butter, flawless crisp. A tidy little triumph of a snack.

  101. Pearl A. –

Nice crunch, but the flavor faded too fast.

  102. Juliana V. –

Left a sleeve out and watched it disappear. The flavor is soft-spoken but it’s all there.

  103. Faris F. –

Already planning to gift these for the holidays.

  104. Bruna J. –

It tastes like something a real baker made, not a machine.

  105. Opal Y. –

Stacked a few next to the jam at breakfast. Crisp and clean, but forgettable after a few.

  106. Darragh W. –

Buttery, sure, but I wished they were less plain. Carried a sleeve to a friend’s for coffee.

  107. Fernanda P. –

The vanilla sits just behind the butter and stays there. Happy I took a chance on the plain one. L. A. Walton makes the kind of snack nobody else bothers to get right.

  108. Fionn Y. –

A small luxury that’s become a weekly thing. Served them alongside the dessert cheese at a potluck.

  109. Roisin R. –

Barely sweet, beautifully buttery, snappy throughout.

  110. Brendan C. –

Light and short, the kind of cracker that behaves with anything. The real-butter richness took me straight back to Christmas baking in Cork.

  111. Eamon P. –

Set a sleeve out for a book-club night. The toasted note at the bottom gives it a warmth I didn’t expect. L. A. Walton has a knack for flavors that feel custom-made.

  112. Cordelia G. –

Set them out with a pot of tea for visiting family. A gentle vanilla-butter thing that pairs with absolutely anything.

  113. Lurline C. –

Tried one the minute the sleeve was open. Vanilla and butter and a clean snap, that’s the whole magic.

  114. Tadhg J. –

They’re good, I just wanted more butter punch.

  115. Alma H. –

Middle of the road for me, fine but not memorable.

  116. Brigid O. –

Pulled these out when a craving hit after dinner. Gentle and rich at once, harder to pull off than it sounds.

  117. Faris M. –

A fine base for a board, forgettable solo.

  118. Luiza D. –

The snap is sharp, the melt is soft, the butter is everywhere. I’ll be keeping a box around from now on.

  119. Clodagh B. –

Set these out when the neighbors came by. Snaps like a good biscuit and melts like a better one.

  120. Nari N. –

Snappy, buttery, and barely sweet in the right way.

  121. Saoirse W. –

Stashed a sleeve in my bag for the commute. Converted after one cracker. A warm, quiet snack for the darker nights.

  122. Roisin O. –

Reached for one with my morning coffee. The shortbread snaps crisp and melts right after.

  123. Beckett C. –

Gentle sweetness, big butter, satisfying crunch. These made my little snack board look professional.

  124. Jihoon O. –

These are the sleeper hit of my snack cabinet.

  125. Nathaniel N. –

The most versatile thing in my pantry right now. Light and short and just rich enough to feel indulgent.

  126. Jihoon N. –

A touch bland for the price, honestly.

  127. Cleora W. –

Pulled a cracker from the sleeve while the coffee brewed. Mild and buttery, with a crackle you can hear. Just right for a crisp October afternoon.

  128. Theodore Z. –

Restrained and buttery, exactly what the name promises. The nutty soy warmth reminded me of misutgaru from home in Korea, which I did not expect to tear up over.

  129. Maeve Z. –

Served a plate of them after supper. The snap is clean and the finish is all warm butter. These are going in every gift box I send this year.

  130. Enola N. –

Light as anything, but the butter makes it feel like a treat.

  131. Marigold W. –

Happy to have found my forever cracker. Served them next to a jar of jam at brunch. A cozy addition to my October tea tray.

  132. Seoyeon D. –

Wandered into a little shop and left with two sleeves. They do their job, but they didn’t wow me.

  133. Istas M. –

Tried these after seeing them on a gift table. The texture is the star: crisp, then it dissolves.

  134. Nokosi L. –

Sold. These are staying in the rotation.

  135. Thais T. –

Everyone who tried mine asked where to get them.

  136. Pearl S. –

Kept these next to the coffee maker all week. The vanilla is real and gentle, never fake.

  137. Sage A. –

Cracked the box open before the guests even sat down. The vanilla is soft and the butter does the heavy lifting.

  138. Omar D. –

Crisp first, buttery second, warm toasty note last. Grabbed a box on the drive home.

  139. Felipe S. –

Opened the sleeve standing in the kitchen and didn’t stop. Plain label, but the flavor has real depth of butter. Made a dreary autumn Monday much nicer.

  140. Larissa M. –

Started on these during a rainy afternoon. It’s quietly rich, all butter and a little toast underneath. Hats off to L. A. Walton for a cracker with actual craft behind it.

  141. Oleta R. –

Picked these up for a quiet night in. A mild, honest cracker that tastes of real ingredients.

  142. Harvey Y. –

Bit into one before I’d even sat down. Clean butter, a touch of vanilla, a crisp that sings. Paired these with cider on a cold afternoon.

  143. Anil Y. –

Crisp edges, a tender center, and just enough sweet. These punch way above a plain cracker.

  144. Lurline I. –

Tossed these in my cart to fill out an order. They’re alright; the plainness wore on me by the end.

  145. Weston G. –

Took one out to the porch with my evening coffee. The butter is front and center and I’m not complaining. Exactly the quiet snack autumn calls for.

  146. Nellie Y. –

Handed a box to my mother and had to buy my own. Better than most shortbread I’ve paid twice as much for. Perfect with a hot cup as the evenings get cold.

  147. Marigold R. –

Liked them fine, wouldn’t go out of my way again.

  148. Augusta B. –

No regrets, only reorders. Took a cracker with my tea and then took three more.

  149. Rania C. –

Crisp, clean, and buttery, about as good as plain gets.

  150. Gabriela S. –

Had a sleeve open before the tea finished steeping. Pairs with everything I own, which is the whole point. Good company for a chilly night in.
