Description
The Crooked Snap is a molasses-and-ginger wall cut off a crooked house. A molasses-and-sorghum hexagon built on brown butter, fresh ginger sharpening every corner, warm baking spice dusted over the field, coarse amber sugar crystals worked into the surface for crunch. It bakes dark molasses-brown and snaps sharp — the spice hits the back of the jaw a beat after. Set it under a Crooked House dome and the two make one long molasses-and-ginger note that leans a little more with each bite. On its own it’s the holiday cracker that never stands quite straight.
The Look: Molasses-brown, sugar-cracked. A dark warm-brown hexagon studded with coarse amber sugar crystals, warm baking-spice dust in the field and vents. Reads like a wall off a house that was built wrong on purpose.
Runs with: Crooked House, the dome this one was cut for. Works one direction only — which is the whole reason to grab the set.
Storage
Store sealed at room temperature, 60–72°F, somewhere dry and out of direct light. Best within 45 days sealed; once you’ve opened the sleeve, 10 to 14 days before the snap goes soft. Fold the sleeve closed and keep it away from steam — a Snap that caught humidity bends instead of breaking, and the break is half the point. Do not refrigerate (the fridge is a humidity trap and the cracker turns leathery). Do not freeze. If one ever softens, five minutes in a 300°F oven brings the snap back. Molasses keeps the crumb a touch chewy; the amber sugar stays crunchy sealed.
Sustainability
Slim cocoa sleeves printed on FSC-certified board with soy-based inks and water-based coatings; the box SKUs use the same matte cocoa window stock as the rest of the line. Turquoise foil stamping is food-grade and aluminum-free where the supplier offers it. Cultured butter from regional dairy partners within a 250-mile radius wherever the season allows. Flour milled domestically; toasted soybean flour milled in-house. No artificial colors — every tint you see is cocoa, cinnamon, fruit powder, or toasted nut doing the work. No high-fructose corn syrup. No palm oil. No pretzels anywhere in the line. Molasses, brown sugar, and flour carry it; ginger fresh in trace. Cold-weather staple, warm-weather margin.

Leila W. –
Cracked the first one in half and the snap was so clean it startled me. Deep molasses, a sharp ginger kick, and I’m already reordering.
Daeun N. –
Snapped a corner off at the kitchen counter and never made it to a plate. The ginger hits late and lingers, which I did not see coming.
Esme O. –
Bit into one expecting a plain cookie and got a wall of warm spice instead. Dark, gingery, and gone far too fast.
Woojin E. –
Broke one over my evening tea and the two were made for each other. That molasses depth tastes like fall decided to show up early.
Eunwoo E. –
Opened the sleeve on a cold night and the gingerbread smell alone sold me. Sharp snap, real ginger bite, easy five.
Amara L. –
Tore into these the second the box landed and skipped dinner over it. The spice sneaks up a beat after you swallow, in the best way.
Gustavo O. –
Pulled one out at book club and watched three people go quiet mid-sentence. The warm ginger and dark molasses just work.
Mariana S. –

Dunked one in coffee on a whim and it held up better than I expected. Molasses-deep and spiced, with none of that cloying edge.
Mateus L. –
Dipped one into the dome it was cut for and the match is almost unfair. The spiced-cane sweetness tasted just like the rapadura I grew up on in Brazil.
Ruth X. –

Osceola G. –
Loaded a plate for a cold front rolling in and the warm spice fit the mood exactly. Restocking before winter sets in for real.
Cole O. –
Piled a few beside my afternoon tea and grazed for an hour. The molasses carries the finish so it never tastes thin.

Crunched through a few while the rain came down and felt fully at peace. The amber sugar and the ginger trade off beautifully.
Sage Y. –
Munched my way through the sleeve during one bad show and feel fine about it. These eat like fall and I’m not sorry.
Eabha M. –
Devoured half the stack before I’d even sat down. Only L. A. Walton could turn a gingerbread cracker into something this addictive.
Seoyeon O. –
Demolished a row of these at the counter with no plate in sight. The spice runs warm and the snap stays sharp to the last one.
Rodrigo S. –
Polished off the sleeve faster than I’d like to admit on the record. Dark, gingery, and a little dangerous, just like the label warns.

Tessa T. –
Lingered over one with a cup of chai and the pairing was a quiet win. Warm, gingery, and grown-up without trying too hard.
Blake F. –
