Description
Every board in this house is a little off, and that’s the charm. Corn-and-rice cereal squares tumbled in a warm dark molasses-brown coating built on rapadura and sorghum, coarse amber sugar crystals pressed in while it sets, then dredged in powdered sugar run through with warm baking spice. Rapadura deepens the dark sugar; fresh ginger sharpens every corner, spice you feel in the back of the jaw a second after the sweet. It’s the cold-weather staple that costs like molasses and spice because it mostly is — the ginger doing the expensive-sounding work in trace. Warm, crooked, and impossible to walk past straight.
Storage
Store sealed at 60–72°F (16–22°C) in a cool, dry place away from direct light, heat, and humidity. Best within 30 days of opening. Re-seal the zip top after every encounter — the powdered-sugar coating pulls moisture from open air and will clump if it’s left breathing. Do not refrigerate — condensation turns the powder tacky. Do not freeze. Molasses keeps the coating tender — re-seal tightly so the powder stays dusty and the sugar crystals keep their crunch.
