Description
Cold Case goes cold on you twice, first the mint and then the room. Stout-dark cocoa fudge folded into cultured cream cheese, a clean peppermint edge cutting straight through the dark, black sesame sitting in the shadow of it for a toasted bottom note, and hickory-smoked cacao nib for grit. It’s theatrical and it costs like a dollar-store cocoa tin, which is the only mystery worth solving here. Serve it at the holiday table and watch it disappear first.
The Look: Frost on obsidian. The faceted dome is near-black under smoked-cacao dust, then scattered with crushed white-and-red peppermint that catches on every facet ridge like frost settling on a cut stone. Dark below, bright and cold on top.
Known associate: Cold Case Snitch Snaps — the cracker cut to lock against this exact dome. Bring the accomplice, or bring an excuse.
Storage
Big Cheeze is a fresh dairy dessert. Keep it cold. Refrigerate at 34–40°F (1–4°C) from the moment it lands. Best within 14 days of the dome date sealed, and within 5 days once you’ve cut into it. It travels on ice for the drive to the party and no longer than that. You can freeze a sealed dome for up to 60 days, then thaw it overnight in the fridge, but the facets soften a shade on the way back and any coating loses its snap. Do not leave a dome at room temperature longer than the two hours it takes to disappear anyway. The crushed peppermint softens as it draws moisture; best texture in the first three days.
Sustainability
Matte cocoa window boxes from recycled paperboard, printed with soy-based inks, the window film compostable where the supplier offers it. Turquoise foil labels food-grade and aluminum-free where sourced. The wax seal is a food-safe paraffin-soy blend. Cultured cream cheese and butter from regional dairy partners. Nuts, cocoa, and spices bought whole and worked in-house. No artificial colors. No high-fructose corn syrup. The color you see is cocoa, cinnamon, fruit, or nut doing the work. Cocoa base with peppermint oil in trace drops; theatrical flavor on a dollar-store cost basis.
Dietary Information
Vegetarian. Gluten-free. Non-GMO. No artificial colors. No high-fructose corn syrup. Contains dairy, sesame, and barley malt. Alcohol-free — stout and bourbon are flavor notes from a malt reduction and a food-grade extract.

Marina S. –
Held a dome on hand for cold nights and it’s the first thing I reach for now. The sweetness stays low while the dark roast and cold mint do all the talking.
Amira H. –
Jotted this straight onto my permanent reorder list before the dome was empty. The founder, L. A. Walton, has a real talent for one-of-a-kind treats.
Finnian E. –
Showed it off at a dinner and it won the night without any effort at all. This made a grey evening a whole lot cozier.
Hyeon V. –
Devoured a third of it during one bad movie and feel no shame about it. The sesame and smoke give the dark cocoa a serious, almost savory floor.
Vinicius V. –
Dug into this after a brutal week and the cool mint was exactly the reset I needed. You can tell L. A. Walton builds flavors nobody else is making.
Osceola L. –
Carried a dome to my sister’s and we finished it by Sunday morning. That near-black cocoa tastes like the serious end of a chocolate shop.
Camila F. –
Shared it with my parents and even my sweet-averse dad went back twice. It reads minty for a second, then the dark shadow underneath takes over.
Luiza I. –
Opted for this instead of a cake and nobody at the table missed the cake. The cold peppermint cuts straight through the dark cocoa and it’s a clean, sharp finish.
Hvresse D. –
Wrapped a cold night around this dome and the dark-mint pull carried it. The dark cocoa is the main event and the mint is the cold little twist.
Avery I. –
Dipped a cracker in expecting candy and got something darker and smarter. I’d put this on the holiday board without a second thought.
Sofia O. –
Produced this at a holiday open house and it was the quiet sleeper hit. Case closed, I’m hooked.
Ronan D. –
Passed the plate at a family dinner and it came back scraped clean. Reordering before the dome’s even empty.
Jackson A. –
Built a stack of crackers for a cold evening and the depth sold me on the spot. It’s rich and shadowy without crossing into bitter-for-the-sake-of-it.
Aline D. –
Clocked this as a holiday-table regular after exactly one taste. Count me in for another dome next month.
Gabriela L. –
Scraped the last of the dome with a spoon and was honestly sad it was over. Converted me off plain peppermint bark for good.
Astrid G. –
Stretched for this over actual peppermint bark and have not looked back. It tastes expensive, the quiet dark kind that doesn’t need to show off.
Mateus A. –
Pried the lid off the second it arrived cold and spread a cracker on the spot. Stocking up before the holidays hit for real.
Nessa B. –
Roped my roommate into splitting one and we fought over the last swipe. The bittersweet dark pulled up something of my Irish roots.
Fiadh M. –
Cut into the dome mid-dinner and the table rearranged itself around it. My new cold-night ritual, hands down.
Isadora W. –
Indulged after the kids went down and it was a small, cold, quiet win. The peppermint is bracing and clean, never that toothpaste kind of sharp.
Ahyoka Y. –
Hid this in the back of the fridge and still caught my partner with a spoon. Lovely stuff, though I’d happily take a bigger dome next time.
Rodrigo I. –
Opened the box still cold and the near-black dome under the frost is stunning. Restocking for the holidays, no question.
Cillian Y. –
Unwrapped it on a cold night and the peppermint-and-cocoa smell alone sold me. I’ll be reaching for this all winter.
Taini G. –
Caved on a Tuesday and treated myself to the dome over two quiet nights. That honest wood-smoke edge felt like the flavors I grew up on as Mvskoke.
Kiran F. –
Bribed myself through chores one cold-minted scoop at a time. My whole house is obsessed, and I’m the worst of us.
Ella Y. –
Attempted to save some for later and that intention died within the hour. Consider me a repeat customer.
Jamal N. –
Fetched it to a quiet dinner and the peppermint quietly carried the room. A clean peppermint line runs straight down the middle of all that dark.
Chebon H. –
Kept circling back to the dome between chores until it was simply gone. Solid treat, just slightly too cold-sharp for my taste.
Cormac O. –
Mounded it thick for a chilly book night and the depth is unbeatable for the price. The dark and the cold keep trading places the whole way down.
Mason D. –
Paired it with the Snitch Snaps crackers and the whole thing earns its warning label. This earned a permanent spot in my fridge.
Tiago O. –
Risked bringing it to a picky crowd and it converted every one of them. A standing order as of this exact moment.
Fionn N. –
Floated the idea of saving half and the dome overruled me immediately. It reminded me of the dark chocolate my Irish gran kept in the good tin.
Henrique V. –
Settled in with a cracker after a long day and it more than delivered. It’s the darkest thing I’ve spread on a cracker and the mint makes it fun.
Mairead C. –
Marked this as my fall default after one cold night with it. The cream is velvety and the mint keeps the whole dome from ever going dull.
Donal G. –
Plated it next to the fancy cheese and it quietly stole the whole show. That near-black, no-nonsense chocolate felt right to my Irish side.
Dara C. –
Sliced open the box still cold and the frost-white crown made me grin. The mint-and-dark combo nodded to the after-dinner sweets my Irish family loved.
Awinita I. –
Entertained a full house with this and the dome didn’t survive round one. This is going straight onto my Thanksgiving table.
Nita B. –
Centered a dessert board around this and it carried the entire course. The real smoke in it reminded me of the sweets my Muscogee family set out.
Maeve L. –
Toted a dome to a porch night and we ate it under blankets in the cold. It won the whole room without even trying.
Luca J. –
Perched a dome at the center of the board and it outshone everything near it. The mint runs strong for me, so I keep the portions small.
Rafael M. –
Vowed to save some for later and that vow collapsed within the hour. That dark-cocoa depth tasted like a childhood sweet from Brazil.
Niamh K. –
Hauled a dome to a cabin weekend and it was the best thing we packed. There’s a smoked, almost savory edge that makes it feel genuinely special.
Saoirse K. –
Guarded the last scoop like evidence and still lost it to my teenager. Buying again, plain and simple.
Imani W. –
Spread this on the little peppermint crackers it’s cut for and didn’t share the rest. The smoked-cacao depth tasted like the traditions of my Muscogee family.
Soren N. –
Chose this for a dark October evening and the mint-then-shadow arc is just right. The frost-white top and the obsidian cocoa taste as dramatic as they look.
Owen M. –
Ran it three ways, cracker, spoon, and straight off the knife, and the knife won. The cocoa is brooding and the mint is icy and together they just work.
Lucca G. –
Whisked a little into a crepe filling and it was absurd in the best possible way. The rich, dark chocolate took me right back to my family’s Brazilian kitchen.
Hyejin J. –
Wedged a knife in the moment it landed and skipped the cracker entirely. It made the permanent list after one taste.
LetÃcia H. –
Slathered it on toast at midnight and have zero regrets about any of it. The cocoa runs deep without ever tipping bitter, and the mint keeps it bright.
Ewan N. –
Fixed a plate for a cold snap and the peppermint-and-cocoa close is the whole thing. Perfect for the first real sweater-weather nights.
Enya C. –
Grazed on this all evening beside my cocoa and never once got tired of it. The mint is bracing, the cocoa is brooding, and the balance is spot on.
Freya R. –
Coaxed my picky partner into one bite and never saw the dome again. It’s bitter-dark going in and cold-clean coming out, which shouldn’t work but does.
Clodagh K. –
Sampled it doubting a dessert cheese could land, and left a full believer. A forever-fridge item for me now.
Jaewon G. –
Snuck a scoop before bed and the quiet peppermint hush is strangely soothing. The dome ran out long before I was ready.
Chaewon D. –
Burrowed a scoop out mid-afternoon and the cool-dark depth held me till evening. The peppermint keeps the heavy cocoa from ever feeling like too much.
Jonah K. –
Ushered this onto the board and it drew more eyes than the wine. Guilty of finishing the whole dome, your honor.
Hyunwoo N. –
Softened it ten minutes on the counter and it spread like a cold dream. The coziest thing in my fridge, no contest.
Keahi Y. –
Picked this for a cold-snap evening and it was the coziest thing in the fridge. A small, cold, dangerous joy, and I regret nothing.
Helena W. –
Set it out at a potluck and it emptied faster than the actual meal. Everyone who tried it wanted the link.
Breandan J. –
Chilled it overnight like the box said and spread it the next evening. Hard to share, so I didn’t, and I’ll do it again.
Winona K. –
Approached it cautious and walked away genuinely impressed by the depth. It’s cool and sharp on the first bite, deep and warm by the last.
Oran I. –
Caught myself reaching past the leftovers for this every single time. Good, though I wish one dome lasted a little longer.
Darragh D. –
Resisted for about a day before the frosted dome won that argument. A low smoked-cacao grit sits under all that cream and makes it taste grown-up.
Noelle N. –
Discovered this at a friend’s and ordered my own before I even left. A touch much for me at once, though I’d buy it again.
Leandro W. –
Marbled a little into my morning cocoa and ruined plain cocoa for myself. It ambushed me and I’d let it happen again.
Davi Y. –
Savored it slow beside my tea and the black-sesame bottom is my favorite part. The crushed-peppermint crown gives a little crunch over the soft dark cream.
Aoife B. –
Swiped a knife through the crown and the crushed peppermint gave a little crunch. Dark cocoa leads, mint argues, and the smoked cacao gets the last word.
Enzo P. –
Added it to a small cheese board and it made the fancy brie look boring. That obsidian-dark cream drinks the light and tastes even darker than it looks.
Yoonah W. –
Gifted one to a neighbor and she texted me a whole paragraph about the mint. It meant a lot to taste that black-sesame depth from where I grew up in Korea.
Jihun K. –
Topped a cracker and honestly it eats like dessert at a nice restaurant. A bourbon-vanilla warmth sneaks in at the finish, with no booze anywhere in it.
Grady T. –
Zeroed in on this over everything else at the dessert table. The black sesame sits in the shadow of the mint and gives it a nutty depth.
Jisoo N. –
Bustled around the kitchen all night stealing scoops between tasks. Honestly my favorite thing in the whole order.
Rafaela O. –
Scooped straight off the dark dome because waiting is not my strong suit. Dangerously good is not just marketing on this one.
Murilo O. –
Earned a few crackers after a long day and the cold finish made it worth it. A whisper of bourbon-vanilla rounds the dark edges without any booze in it.
Jinwoo R. –
Piled a scoop onto one cracker, took a bite, and knew I was in trouble. I came for the dare and stayed for the whole dome.
Deirdre B. –
Harbored a backup dome in the freezer now, just to be safe. There’s a cold-then-smoky thing happening that I can’t stop chasing.
Lorcan D. –
Rationed this to make it last and failed spectacularly by day two. The mint hits like a cold snap and the cocoa settles in behind it like dusk.
Seojin H. –
Doubted a peppermint cheese could work and this shut me up in one bite. The smoky-dark sesame edge nodded to the flavors I was raised on in Korea.
Ruairi J. –
Treated it like real dessert, which it is, and paced myself badly. The crushed peppermint on top melts into the cocoa a little more each bite.
Silas M. –
Lined up crackers for a slow Sunday and the dome didn’t reach Monday. Easy yes, and an easy reorder.
Nuala H. –
Stacked a plate for a rainy afternoon and the cool-then-dark thing never got old. The mint lands cold up front and the smoked cacao smolders in right behind it.
Nisha O. –
Pocketed the gift-box dome for myself and never once looked back. The smoked cacao hums under the cream like something you can’t quite place.
Fernanda C. –
Parked a dome beside my evening tea and the peppermint finish is a nice surprise. That cold peppermint snap against the heavy dark cocoa is the whole appeal.
Guilherme N. –
Ferried a dome across town to a friend’s and we killed it in one sitting. Second dome is already in the cart.
Grant L. –
Wheeled out a board at a party and this dome didn’t last the hour. That cocoa is so deep it’s almost a confession, and the mint lightens the sentence.
Theo K. –
Offered it around at a gathering and three people asked where I’d found it. A faint smoky edge trails the peppermint a beat longer than you expect.
Mirae W. –
Wandered back to the fridge for it three times in one evening. The black sesame took me straight back to my grandmother’s kitchen in Korea.
Elliot T. –
Tasted a corner before guests came and then had to physically hide it from myself. The peppermint reads real and crisp, not like syrup or a candy cane.
Aoibhinn Y. –
Yanked a dome out for a cold rainy day and it hit the exact right note. A splurge I’ll happily make again.
Scarlett O. –
Peeled back the lid and the crushed-peppermint crown is the prettiest thing in the fridge. I’d testify under oath that this is dangerous.
Seoyeon K. –
Flaunted a board at a fall party and this was the clear standout. Worth every penny and then some.
Maren T. –
Unboxed it, spread a cracker, and immediately texted a friend about it. The warning label is doing honest work here.
Jun D. –
Smeared it edge to edge on a cracker and the mint finish is the whole hook. Already added it to the recurring order.
Soyeon M. –
Warmed up to this by the second cracker and by the fourth I was a convert. Hats off to the founder, L. A. Walton, for something genuinely original.
Colton V. –
Snatched the darkest-looking dome in the shop and it lived up to the look. A cozy spooky-season pick if there ever was one.
Lena A. –
Spooned it thick on a cracker for a cozy Sunday and that’s the ritual now. An easy favorite I’ll keep coming back to.
Aisling K. –
Tucked into this once the house went quiet and the mint just settled me. The cold mint on top and the warm cocoa underneath play off each other perfectly.
Oisin E. –
Froze for a second after the first bite because the mint really is that cold. A touch minty in one sitting for me, but no real complaints.
Nokomis A. –
Kicked off a dinner party with this and set the bar high early. Right on time for spooky season.
Sequoyah C. –
Ate it straight from the fridge and the cool mint against the dark cocoa is unreal. A keeper for cold nights, without a doubt.
Marcus F. –
Portioned it out for guests and still came up short because it goes fast. Only L. A. Walton could make a dark dessert this strange and this good.
Eoin J. –
Snagged this for sweater weather and the cold cocoa fits the season perfectly. A quiet stout-malt depth gives the dark cocoa somewhere serious to go.
Ciara E. –
Stashed it behind the milk to pace myself and that plan lasted about a day. The peppermint is cold enough to feel like the room dropped a few degrees.
Niall D. –
Nabbed a dome for a cold night and the frost-white top alone made me curious. Made for a dark October evening, basically.
Caroline B. –
Nestled a scoop onto a graham and the dark cocoa did all the heavy lifting. The cold mint fades and that smoked-cacao warmth lingers in its place.
Kyungsoo L. –
Mixed a spoonful into warm milk and made myself the coldest, darkest nightcap. That toasted-sesame shadow is the detail I keep going back for.
Isabela M. –
Served this at a chilly dinner and it was gone before the coffee landed. Repeat order incoming, no hesitation.
Gayeon M. –
Drizzled none, scooped plenty, and the dome never made it to the weekend. The finish is warm where I honestly expected it to just stay cold and bitter.
Everett V. –
Dabbed a bit onto a warm biscuit and it was comfort in its coldest form. Already planning the next reorder in my head.
Minho V. –
Munched through a cracker tower during a cold front and it was pure comfort. A little rich all at once, though I’d still reorder it.
Heitor B. –
Rescued the last scoop from my husband by moving faster than him. Being Brazilian, I loved how deep and dark the chocolate ran.
Haeun O. –
Leaned into a cozy night with this and the cool-to-dark swing is the draw. Whatever L. A. Walton is doing over there, she should never stop.
Keanu S. –
Handed a cracker to a skeptical friend and lost the rest of the evening to it. That stout-dark cocoa goes almost pitch black before the mint even shows up.
Beatriz T. –
Dished a dome at a small dinner and it set the mood for the whole night. It goes cold, then dark, then warm at the very end, a whole arc in one bite.
Sora J. –
Brought a dome to a fire-pit night and it vanished before the logs caught. Nobody builds flavors like L. A. Walton.
Larissa V. –
Balanced a scoop on a shortbread and barely shared a bite of it. I’d order this again in a heartbeat.
Conall E. –
Doled out crackers at a party and ran dry long before the crackers did. This one’s a keeper, plain and simple.
Pedro R. –
Cracked into the frosted crown at midnight and the mint woke me right up. L. A. Walton clearly has a gift for desserts you can’t find anywhere else.
Rory C. –
Eased into a slow Sunday with this and the mint kept me company all afternoon. No way this leaves my rotation now.
Tooantuh J. –
Negotiated the last scoop with my brother and lost, fairly and completely. It’s grown-up dark with just enough cold mint to keep it friendly.
Antonia F. –
Loaded a cracker for a grey evening and the deep cocoa sold me instantly. As someone Brazilian, that deep dark cocoa honestly felt like home.
Harper P. –
Placed it center-table and it was the first thing gone, as usual. Just a bit intense in one go, but worth it.
Mariana T. –
Tested one cracker, then lost count, which is the whole problem with it. A quiet little luxury I’ll keep on hand.
Grainne N. –
Gathered the family around a board and this disappeared first, naturally. I’m not letting my fridge run out of this again.
