Nightcap Snitch Snaps

Price range: $7.00 through $12.00

The last cracker of the night. A nutmeg-custard shortbread hexagon dusted with grated nutmeg, cut for Nightcap dome. Pale, rich, and poured a little too thick to be responsible.

Description

Nightcap Snap is the cracker you reach for when the party’s winding down and you’re not. A cultured-butter shortbread hexagon built on a sweet rice-milk custard note with nutmeg and bourbon flavoring, doce de leite folded in for body, grated nutmeg dusted over the pale field. It bakes cream-gold and snaps rich. Set it under a Nightcap dome and the two make one long custard note, thick and final. On its own it’s the holiday shortbread that tastes like the last drink, poured thick.

The Look: Cream-gold, nutmeg-dusted. A pale warm-cream shortbread hexagon dusted with grated nutmeg so the field goes freckled tan, the six vents ringed. Reads like a nightcap set flat.

Runs with: Nightcap, the dome this one was cut for. Works one direction only — which is the whole reason to grab the set.

Storage

Store sealed at room temperature, 60–72°F, somewhere dry and out of direct light. Best within 45 days sealed; once you’ve opened the sleeve, 10 to 14 days before the snap goes soft. Fold the sleeve closed and keep it away from steam — a Snap that caught humidity bends instead of breaking, and the break is half the point. Do not refrigerate (the fridge is a humidity trap and the cracker turns leathery). Do not freeze. If one ever softens, five minutes in a 300°F oven brings the snap back. Contains honey — keep out of reach of infants under 12 months.

Sustainability

Slim cocoa sleeves printed on FSC-certified board with soy-based inks and water-based coatings; the box SKUs use the same matte cocoa window stock as the rest of the line. Turquoise foil stamping is food-grade and aluminum-free where the supplier offers it. Cultured butter from regional dairy partners within a 250-mile radius wherever the season allows. Flour milled domestically; toasted soybean flour milled in-house. No artificial colors — every tint you see is cocoa, cinnamon, fruit powder, or toasted nut doing the work. No high-fructose corn syrup. No palm oil. No pretzels anywhere in the line. Milk, egg, and sugar — cheapest possible custard note; rice milk and honey in micro-pour.

Dietary Information

Vegetarian. Non-GMO. No artificial colors. No high-fructose corn syrup. Contains wheat, dairy, soy, egg, and honey. Not vegan. Not gluten-free. Not kosher-certified. Alcohol-free — bourbon is a flavor note from a food-grade extract.

129 reviews for Nightcap Snitch Snaps

  1. Nessa K. –

The cracker you snap when the party’s done and you’re not — that’s exactly what this is. Nutmeg and custard, baked rich, and the break is loud enough to wake the dog.

  2. Dallin B. –

Grabbed the Sleeve expecting a plain shortbread and got eggnog in cracker form. Warm nutmeg, a custardy finish, and a snap that genuinely cracks.

  3. Saoirse M. –

Cracked one over coffee and forgot the coffee. The nutmeg leads, the custard note rounds it, and nothing about it tastes fake.

  4. Thiago R. –

Paired the Sleeve with the Nightcap dome like the box told me to and understood the whole pitch. Two custard notes, one long finish.

  5. Priya N. –

Opened these on the first cold night of the season and they fit the weather perfectly. Rich, nutmeg-warm, and that snap is half the fun.

  6. Rourke D. –

Popped the Stack open for a card night and they vanished before the second hand. Eggnog flavor, buttery body, dangerously snackable.

  7. Daeun C. –

Ate three standing over the sink before I’d even sat down. The nutmeg dusting on top is where the whole thing lives.

  8. Jonah F. –

Bought the Sleeve on a whim and now the Stack is on my reorder. Holiday shortbread that actually tastes like the holidays.

  9. Winona T. –

Doubted a cracker could taste like a nightcap and this proved me wrong fast. Custard-rich, warm, and clean on the finish.

  10. Micco H. –

Carried the Stack to a friend’s and we killed it over one movie. The snap is loud, the nutmeg is real, no regrets.

  11. Mauricio W. –

Reached for one of these instead of a cookie and won’t go back. Eggnog warmth baked into shortbread is a smart little trick.

  12. Carolina S. –

Dunked one in warm milk out of curiosity and it held up beautifully. The nutmeg bloomed and the custard note went soft.

  13. Orla B. –

Set the Sleeve out at the end of a long dinner and they outlasted the pie. Exactly the quiet, rich thing a tired table wants.

  14. Avery J. –

Hid the Stack behind the cereal and still got caught. The nutmeg gives it away — you can smell these across the kitchen.

  15. Taini L. –

Snapped one, then four more, then stopped counting entirely. Honest eggnog flavor, buttery crumb, hard to put the sleeve down.

  16. Rafael D. –

Took the Sleeve to work and my desk became the popular spot. Everyone wanted to know what smelled like nutmeg custard.

  17. Fintan G. –

Tried one after the kids went down and got the appeal completely. Grown-up, calm, and it snaps like a proper shortbread should.

Stashed the Stack for a cold Friday and it didn’t make it to Saturday. Warm as a nightcap, rich as a real cookie.

Leaned into a slow Sunday with these and a mug of tea. The snap and the warm spice were the whole afternoon.

Chose these over the actual dessert at a dinner and chose right. The eggnog warmth tastes like a treat you earned.

Held out about a day before the Sleeve won. Rich custard, warm nutmeg, a snap that calls you back for one more.

Snacked on a couple at midnight with zero guilt. Deep eggnog flavor, a buttery close, all of it cozy.

Caved on a Tuesday and stretched the Stack over two nights, barely. The crumb stays rich while the nutmeg runs deep.

Volunteered to bring dessert and these quietly beat the cake. The eggnog warmth alone is my reason to reorder.

  33. Woojin H. –

Eased into a cozy evening with the Sleeve and my tea and it was perfect. Custard and nutmeg wrapped in a grown-up, buttery snap.

  34. Vitoria L. –

Nibbled one while cooking, then another, then gave up pretending. The eggnog note reads true and the snap is clean.

  35. Aaliyah B. –

Balanced the Nightcap dome on one of these and barely shared a bite. Together they make one long custard note, just like the box swears.

  36. Caoimhe T. –

Pocketed the gift-box Sleeve for myself and never looked back. The nutmeg hangs quiet while the custard does the work.

  37. Marcela D. –

Spotted these on a recommendation and they earned their place fast. Mellow eggnog, warm spice, a cozy buttery close.

Rationed the Sleeve to make it last and failed by day two. Deep eggnog flavor and a snap that keeps pulling you in.

  40. Hyewon K. –

Crumbled one over ice cream and regretted none of it. The nutmeg warmth blooms the second it hits something cold.

  41. Renata F. –

Laid the Sleeve out at a cocktail night and it was the only thing remembered. Eggnog-rich and buttery, basically a nightcap you can snap.

  42. Nokomis V. –

Warmed a couple in the oven five minutes and got the snap back perfectly, just like the label said. The nutmeg sharpened too.

Dug the Stack out of the cabinet and finished it standing up. Custard, nutmeg, and a soft warm glow at the end.

Gifted a Sleeve to my sister and she hid it from her own kids. Gentle eggnog warmth, buttery snap, a fair trade.

  45. Doyoon H. –

Talked my skeptical husband into one and lost the rest of the Stack. Buttery and nutmeg-forward, a custard hum on the way out.

  46. Niamh G. –

Toted the Sleeve to a cabin weekend and it was the best thing we packed. The nutmeg and snap suited the cold nights perfectly.

Ate one next to a warm biscuit and it was absurdly good. Eggnog-rich, buttery, a custard finish that lingers clean.

Went in cautious and walked away genuinely impressed. The nutmeg note is grown-up without trying too hard.

  49. Felipe B. –

Zeroed in on the Stack over everything else at the dessert table. There’s eggnog, there’s nutmeg, and a warm custard over both.

Caught myself reaching for the Sleeve three nights running, which says plenty. The eggnog depth is the detail I keep noticing.

Built a board for movie night and kept circling back to these. Buttery nutmeg, a slow custard finish, easy to overdo.
