Slow-cooked caramel that’s sweet on the first bite and watching you by the second. Amber, patient, gone fast.

Description

First bite is pure sugar and friendly. Second bite is when you notice it’s been counting. Caramel cooked low and slow until it goes deep amber, cold-smoked salt cut across it, a burnt-sugar crackle on the edge, and a whiskey-barrel warmth that’s all flavor and no proof. It bites clean and cold at the corner, then spreads warm and salty-sweet. Pour a coffee and let one sit beside it after dinner, set it on a board where the salt can do its work, or drop a stone into a mug of hot Liquid Assets drinking chocolate and let it go molten. Sweet talks first. The salt collects.

Ingredients

Cane sugar, sweetened condensed milk, cultured brown butter, doce de leite (sweetened condensed milk, sugar), dalgona burnt-sugar crackle (sugar, baking soda), cold-smoked hickory sea salt, whiskey flavoring, bourbon-barrel vanilla extract, cream.

Allergen Information

Contains milk. Produced in a facility that also handles tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, eggs, soy, and sesame.

Storage

Store sealed at 60–68°F (16–20°C) in a cool, dry place, out of direct light, heat, and humidity. Best within 21 days. Once opened, finish within 7 to 10 days. Do not refrigerate. The stones sweat and the cut goes dull. Do not freeze. Keep the lid closed between encounters. Dalgona crackle softens after day 14, so eat inside the window.

Dietary

Vegetarian. Non-GMO. No artificial colors. No high-fructose corn syrup. Whiskey and bourbon are flavor notes from food-grade extracts and contain no alcohol. Not gluten-free. Not vegan. Not kosher-certified.

Sustainability

Matte cocoa rigid setup boxes on FSC-certified board, soy-based inks, water-based coatings. Turquoise foil stamping is food-grade and aluminum-free where the supplier offers it. Cream paper-cup inserts compost. The turquoise wax seal on the 12-count box is a food-safe paraffin-soy blend. Dairy and cultured butter come from regional farms inside a 250-mile radius wherever the season allows. Cocoa runs Direct Trade and Rainforest Alliance. No artificial colors. No high-fructose corn syrup. Hickory salt cold-smoked in small batches over real hardwood, no liquid-smoke shortcut on the salt.

  1. Caroline F. –

Caramel that starts friendly and turns salty on you second bite. Reordering before this box is gone.

  2. Salvatore R. –

Salted caramel finally done the way it should be. The 4-count vanished in a day, so the 12 is next.

  3. Trisha O. –

Sweet up front, then the salt sneaks in late. My husband and I actually argued over the last piece.

  4. Marcus T. –

Whoever thought to put cold-smoked salt on caramel deserves a medal. Buying this one again for sure.

  5. Victor M. –

Cold snap rolled in and this became my entire evening. Cozy and a little bit dangerous.

  6. Rosa P. –

Loved the warmth in the finish — tastes like a cozy night, and no alcohol in sight.

  7. Nadia B. –

My new after-dinner treat, full stop. Goes scary well with a cup of black coffee.

  8. Dev P. –

Bought these on a whim and now I’m keeping them hidden from the kids.

  9. Omar G. –

Heard about these from a friend and now I owe her one, big time.

  10. Natalie F. –

Sold after a single square. The 8-count felt generous for what I paid.

  11. Esme C. –

Good caramel, a little pricey if I’m honest, but I understand why. Would still rebuy.

  12. Angela M. –

Ordered the 8-count figuring I’d pass some around. Reader, I did not.

  13. Trevor L. –

First piece in and I understood the warning label. No regrets whatsoever.

  14. Melody K. –

Got the 4-count as a trial and instantly felt like I’d under-ordered.

  15. Morgan E. –

Skeptical of hyped candy, but this held up. The caramel has real depth.

  16. Holly R. –

Treating myself after a rough Monday, and not one regret.

  17. Bianca R. –

Honestly braced for too-sweet candy and got something with real depth instead. Already rebuying.

  18. Greg S. –

Okay, that burnt-sugar edge is unreal. Cool evening up here and this hit exactly right.

  19. Erin C. –

Autumn and salted caramel just belong together, turns out. Glad I found these when I did.

  20. Marco B. –

Seriously, that salt at the end is what makes me grab a second piece.

  21. Doug S. –

Liked it a lot, a bit sweet for me personally, but my family cleared the box fast.

  22. Glen T. –

Every bite opens friendly and closes with a bit of attitude. I’m in love.

  23. Yolanda C. –

Wow. None of that sugary overload, just deep amber caramel with a salty bite at the end.

  24. Brandon K. –

Took one square to the office and three people wanted to know where I got it.

  25. Rebecca J. –

Tried one skeptical and finished the box fully convinced.

  26. Darius O. –

Hooked on that smoky note. My only gripe is I wish the box were bigger.

  27. Arjun M. –

Deep caramel flavor without the sugar headache. The second-bite salt is the whole trick.

  28. Jacqueline R. –

Chilly night up here, a hot drink, and one of these beside it. Perfect fall combo.

  29. Simone A. –

Picked the 12-count for a game-day spread and it was gone before the second quarter.

  30. Owen D. –

Grabbed a box after a long trail day and these were honestly the highlight.

  31. Troy A. –

October treat handled. The 12-count is basically my grown-up Halloween stash.

  32. Ruben A. –

Had low hopes after some letdown candies lately. These restored my faith in treats.

  33. Priya D. –

Worried it’d be another too-sweet gimmick. Wrong, and happily so.

  34. Brady N. –

Not usually a fudge person and this flipped me entirely.

  35. Keisha W. –

These melt at the corner first, then the salt lands. I could not stop at one.

  36. Paul V. –

This is what I’m handing out as gifts all autumn. Already restocking the shelf.

  37. Dustin M. –

Tasted like somebody cooked this caramel with real patience. You can taste the time.

  38. Kendra P. –

Low-key obsessed. Stashed the final two so I’d have them when I really needed one.

  39. Latoya W. –

Enjoyed every square on a slow Saturday at home. Reordering soon.

  40. Sandra P. –

One box in and I’m already mapping out the holiday order.

  41. Renee H. –

Snagged the little 4-count just to test it. Rookie mistake — now I need the big box.

  42. Chad M. –

Dangerously good, no notes. I polished off two before I even sat down.

  43. Maya L. –

September got crisp around here and these made the porch-sitting worth every minute.

  44. Vanessa T. –

Obsessed is a strong word. I’m using it anyway.

  45. Bonnie L. –

Amber and buttery with a salt kick that became my newest weakness.

  46. Gustavo P. –

Paired one with my afternoon café and it was a match made somewhere good.

  47. Ingrid L. –

Finally a caramel with warmth to it, like whiskey without a drop of alcohol. Gorgeous.

  48. Hassan J. –

Been buying pricey chocolates for years and this quietly out-did all of them.

  49. Priscila A. –

Opened the box expecting ordinary and got that whiskey-barrel warmth instead. Lovely surprise.

  50. Colleen F. –

Pretty much the best caramel I’ve had that didn’t come out of my own kitchen.

  51. Chase V. –

Figured I’d try one flavor before committing. Now I want the entire lineup.

  52. Priti S. –

Little squares, big flavor. The salt is what makes the whole thing.

  53. Dana P. –

Showed up fast and somehow tasted even better than it looked in the photos.

  54. Felipe N. –

Brought a box to my mom’s place and now I have to order one for her too.

  55. Scott R. –

Weather turned gray and I wanted something warm-tasting. This nailed it.

  56. Russell H. –

Listen, I don’t review candy as a rule, but this one earned it.

  57. Blake A. –

Adored the little 4-count so much I felt silly for not getting the 12.

  58. Micah W. –

Half the fun is that salty surprise waiting at the finish. Buying more soon.

  59. Monica E. –

Set one right next to my coffee like the box suggested. Very smart move.

  60. Alejandro V. –

Dropped a piece into hot cocoa and watched it go molten. Dangerous little discovery.

  61. Kyle B. –

Unwrapped one at my desk and the smoky-salt smell had my coworker leaning over.

  62. Hunter D. –

Converted a strictly-chocolate friend with one piece. One.

  63. Felix A. –

Rich and yet not heavy, which I genuinely didn’t think fudge could pull off.

  64. Daniel O. –

Arrived up north in great shape and the caramel’s got that smoky edge I love.

  65. Beth S. –

Melts slow, finishes salty, leaves you reaching for the next one. Sold completely.

  66. Kurt W. –

Kept the whole 8-count for myself and I would absolutely do it again.

  67. Deja W. –

Cooler days call for exactly this flavor. Smoky, sweet, a touch of salt. Great timing.

  68. Tony L. –

Quite possibly too good — the box was empty before my partner got home from work.

  69. Tasha R. –

Thought fudge was just fudge. This proved me wrong in about four seconds.

  70. Cody R. –

Super smooth with that smoky-sweet finish. My Sunday coffee has a new companion.

  71. Denise F. –

Worth every penny of shipping it up the coast. That finish is something special.

  72. Priya N. –

You can tell L. A. Walton actually tastes her own work. Truly singular, for real.

  73. Jamal F. –

Hid these in the back of the pantry and my teenager still sniffed them out.

  74. Sofia R. –

Cut one in half to share, then quietly ate the other half too.

  75. Elena S. –

Look, it’s salted caramel, but made with real care. The difference is right there on your tongue.

  76. Gabriela F. –

Craving these again and the box isn’t even empty yet. Dangerous, as promised.

  77. Lauren G. –

Gave a box as a small thank-you and created a lifelong fan on the spot.

  78. Theo B. –

Shared one square with my wife and had to immediately order a second box.

  79. Nathan P. –

Crisp afternoon, a mug of coffee, one of these on the side. You can’t beat it.

  80. Allison M. –

Smitten with the salty finish. These are not surviving the week.

  81. Georgia W. –

Buttery caramel with a grown-up edge. My dad hates sweets and still ate four.

  82. Carlos M. –

Down here the heat is no friend to caramel, but these held together and tasted amazing.

  83. Carmen D. –

Saved these for a rainy evening in and they more than earned the wait.

  84. Rick T. –

Rationed them to last a week. Failed by Wednesday. Reordering.

  85. Garrett P. –

Broke into the 12-count ‘for the holidays.’ It is October. They are gone.

  86. Shauna D. –

Absolutely worth the splurge. Rich, smoky, and gone far too fast.

  87. Neil G. –

Expected a sugar bomb and got something I’d actually call elegant. Who knew.

  88. Tamika J. –

Really glad I tried the 4-count first, because now I’m committed to the big one.

  89. Letícia M. –

Reminds me of the doce de leite my mãe made back in Brazil. Didn’t expect fudge to make me a little misty.

  90. Daniel K. –

As a Korean kid raised on dalgona, that burnt-sugar note hit something tender. Beautiful work.

  91. Gloria T. –

Nothing fancy about how I ate these — standing at the kitchen counter, grinning.

  92. Grant W. –

Alright, color me converted. Not a sweets guy, and now I’m stocking up.

  93. Spencer K. –

Wanted a treat that felt special for date night. This more than delivered.

  94. Kelsey A. –

Cozy prairie night, a blanket, and a couple of these. Simple and great.

  95. Siobhan D. –

Grew up on my nan’s salted butter toffee every Christmas, and this took me right back to Ireland.

  96. Rafael S. –

Growing up Brazilian, caramel cooked this deep feels like family. Meant the world to taste home in a little piece.

  97. Leslie N. –

Pulled these out at a dinner party and became briefly famous among my friends.

  98. Reggie B. –

Delighted and slightly out of control around this box, if I’m honest.

  99. Nolan P. –

Perfect size for tossing in my bag. Also perfect flavor. Also already gone.

  100. Yamil R. –

From Ponce with love — this salty-sweet thing is officially my new indulgence.

  101. Cheyenne H. –

Found these on a Tulsa run and the flavor felt like something my grandmother would have adored. Pure comfort.

  102. Grace Y. –

Being Korean-American, I rarely find sweets that feel like they belong to me. Somehow this one did.

  103. Wesley K. –

Never been loyal to a candy brand in my life until this box showed up.

  104. Peter M. –

Totally expected a sugar overload and got balance instead. Won me right over.

  105. Camille B. –

Assumed I’d save some for later. Turns out there is no later.

  106. Austin D. –

So much better than the drugstore caramels I grew up chewing.

  107. Jordan B. –

    L. A. Walton has a genuine gift. Never had a fudge that tasted this carefully thought out.

  108. Hannah P. –

Read that the founder makes these one of a kind, and after one bite I believe every word.

  109. Isaac T. –

Reached for store candy out of pure habit, then remembered I had these. No contest.

  110. Bridget A. –

Man, that burnt-sugar crackle on the edge might be my favorite part.

  111. Maria H. –

Needed something cozy after a brutal week and these fit perfectly.

  112. Priya V. –

Vancouver rain rolled in and I wanted comfort. One square fixed the entire evening.

  113. Patrice B. –

Can’t get over how clean the caramel tastes. No fake buttery thing going on at all.

  114. Logan F. –

Could finish the entire 8-count in one sitting, which is precisely the problem.

  115. Jenna K. –

Pleased overall, though I wanted a little more salt than I got. Still buying again.

  116. Diana S. –

Solid treat for a chilly night here. Already added to my reorder list.

  117. Amara O. –

Would gladly have paid twice the price after that first square. Don’t tell them.

  118. Brett H. –

Will be ordering a box every single fall from here on out.

  119. Whitney C. –

Went in on the big box with my roommate. Best decision we made all month.

  120. Daria V. –

Genuinely one of the better things I’ve ordered online all year.

  121. Trent M. –

Knew it was trouble when the salt hit on bite two. The great kind of trouble.

  122. Renata B. –

Such a clean caramel flavor. No waxy aftertaste, just warmth and a little salt.

  123. Marie-Claude L. –

Thanksgiving weekend treat up here and the whole family gave it a thumbs up. Reorder planned.

  124. Nina S. –

Might have three boxes on the way already. Absolutely no shame.

  125. Carl D. –

Must say the salt-to-sweet balance is spot on. Rare to get that right.

  126. Curtis J. –

Impressed by how smooth these are. A little goes far, which honestly justifies the price.

  127. Jerome T. –

Buying the 12-count next round — the 8 disappeared way too quickly.

  128. Brent H. –

Up here the cold came early. These made it bearable, and that’s no exaggeration.

  129. Tanya V. –

Saw these online, took a chance, got rewarded. Simple as that.

  130. Darnell S. –

Came for the slick packaging, stayed for that salty caramel finish.

  131. Luis C. –

Surprised how balanced it is — sweet, sure, but it knows exactly when to stop.

  132. Wade K. –

Great flavor, a touch rich for me, but I finished the box anyway.
